Still unable to turn on two-factor authentication even when the Set-up button is present
The ‘Setup Two-Factor Authentication’ button is present on both my Macbook running OS X El Capitan and iPhone 6S running iOS 9.0.2, but when I click on it on either device I get the message ‘Two-factor authentication is not available for your Apple ID at this time’. Anyone else getting this. I thought the setup button only appears once it’s available for you to set it up.

proxy authentication required dialog not going away
I have had a first generation MacBook unibody (not yet named MacBook pro) 13″, and have been using it perfectly for 4 years. I rely on HTTP and HTTPS proxy heavily to browse web, due to certain filterings in my country.
I use Google Chrome’s ProxySwitchy plugin to switch to my proxy (it’s a squid proxy) and it uses scutil to change the systemwide proxy. My proxy requires authentication. Now I had no problems on my mac never ever,
But i’ve moved to a Retina mac a couple days now and whenever I enable this proxy, the proxy authentication required dialog bugs me so much I’m forced to disable proxy and be unable to use this new mac. It seems that all sorts of applications trigger this and it happens like once or twice every minute, and only for HTTPS proxy.
There’s no remember me box or any options in keychain to make it not happen, and I have to type in a long username and password everytime for every app to work, sometimes even when I open a tab in google chrome it pops again!
If someone could not help me with this, I’d have to dump this new Retina mac and have a very bad memory of it.

According to the document: About VPN protocols for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support iOS can created:
- L2TP/IPSec with user authentication by MS-CHAPV2 Password, RSA SecurID or CryptoCard, and machine authentication by shared secret.
I need to create a VPN connection L2TP over IPSec with machine cert authentication (PKCS#12 (.p12)), but I can not find a setting to specify a certificate. I tried to add a certificate using a profile, but the VPN settings for new items appeared.
How to add the certificate and make the VPN connection to use it?

Do you need to enable Two-Step Verification in order to get Two-Factor Authentication to work?
I am trying to enable Two-Factor Authentication. I have the buttons to do so on all my devices. However, when I try to enable Two-Factor Authentication, I get the following message: “Two-Factor Authentication is not available for your Apple ID at this time”. All devices are running iOS 9 and El Capitan.
While trying to troubleshoot, I noticed that when I go to Settings>iCloud>myappleid>Devices (System Preferences>iCloud>Account Details> Devices on Mac), all my devices have a tag that states, “This device cannot be used to receive Apple ID verification codes”.
When I go to myappleid.com to manage my ID, there is an option to enable Two-Step Verification. Is this necessary to enable first to get devices to receive verification codes first, so that I can enable Two-Factor Authentication? This does not make sense. I did not come across any documentation that says it is necessary.
I not see anywhere to manage trusted devices on myappleid.com.
Any ideas?

Website Authentication Errors Server 5.0.15
When the setting to restrict website access to a group in Server 5, authentication on the server and endpoint fails repeatedly. If credentials are repeatedly put in, eventually the site loads in the background but the authentication window continues to appear. In some instances, a proxy error is given. This occurs in Safari and Firefox. Chrome was not tested.
To remedy, I tried to reset server by removing the service files located at /Library/Server, removing the ServerSetupDone file, rebooting the machine, and allowing server to recreate the service data files. Upon doing so, the authentication issue still persisted.
I looked at the apache error log, and this is what I was given:

Two-Factor Authentication
I recently notified that I have an “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” button in my Apple Id settings on both my phone and my Mac. After pressing it, I get an error “Two-Factor Authentication is not available for your Apple Id”. I know it is a slow rollout, but according to the support document, that button shouldn’t show up if it is not available.
Anyone else have the same problem?

Trouble retaining login credentials on gmail with two factor authentication
I am running 9.1 but was also having trouble with 9.0 on my iPad (but not my iPhone running the same software).
I have several gmail accounts with two factor authentication enabled. Every couple days the accounts “lose” their authentication and Mail on iOS reports that it is not able to connect to the google imap server.
I have to then delete and re-enable the account to once again get mail (which means I also need to reenter my authentication code). That will work ok for around 3 days and then I have to do it all over again.
Has anyone else experienced or heard about anything like this? Like I said, this is only on my iPad not my iPhone.

Authentication Error on new Apple TV
Hi, I can setup my new Apple Tv (upgraded to current tvOS from development kit) correctly with my iPhone, i can login my iCloud account but when i try to login with the same account in iTunes, App Store or Home Sharing i get this message: Could Not Sign In AMD–Action:authenticate:SP

Ive been trying since the app hit my 3rd generation apple tv ,I go to settings then i go type my code given into the box then i go to direct tv and sign in and when i do i get AUTHENTICATION ERROR ,been trying this twice a day for 2 weeks but no luck.

I am unable to activate two factor authentication because the site says credit card security key is invalid.
I’ve been trying to enable two factor authentication on appleid.apple.com, but when it wants me to enter my CC details for verification, it always says the security key is invalid.
I’ve tried updating the CC info in iTunes. That didn’t help.
Adding insult to injury, the on-line support page recommends having Apple call me, but that has so far only yielded: “We’re Sorry. We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again or come back later.”
And their Danish support phone number doesn’t connect.
Any suggestions? A functional support email address perhaps?
*sigh*Microsoft come back. All is forgiven.
